Tagged by Marilyn W.! I've been tagged! YAH-HOO!

Tagged by Marilyn W..

I got "tagged." It feels like in elementary school and they were choosing teams for dodge ball and I got picked at the beginning and not at the end. I hope I can make "Marilyn W." proud.

1. The best thing you cooked last week? Dinner on Sunday. We were suppose to take a meal to a family in the ward. When I called to get directions to the family's home the mom said that someone else was bringing dinner. I am trying to see the "bright" side of this and so our family had a glorious dinner of roast, potatoes, homemade bread, vegetables, salad and a fun "Poor Man's Dessert" that Marilyn W. shared a few weeks ago on her blog. My family was so happy. I am hoping that we still get the blessings cuz' we did fix the meal. RIGHT!?!

2. If money, time and babysitting were no object, where would you go and with whom? Well, I would go to New Zealand or the Bahama's or anywhere tropical. You know, the long Nebraska winter is about to hit and I am just not looking forward to it.

I have to tell you that I did do something for myself on Saturday night. If I had been in Utah, I would have gone downtown to the Deseret Book store for "Ladies Night Out." It was a fun tradition I had when I lived there. So instead of feeling sorry for myself this General Conference, I hired the little girl across the street to babysit Laura and Cameron and I went to a friend's house and sewed the cutest pillow cases. It was so fun and I came home feeling so refreshed. Best $15.00 I ever spent. I would take Daren with me for some of my trips. And I would take my dear friend, Dickie on some of the others. Oh yeah, I forgot, she doesn't like to travel. EEK!

3. When was the last time you cried?Hmmm...I cried several times yesterday during General Conference. I was looking to have a deep, meaningful experience while watching General Conference. I felt like each and every talk was directed just at me. The music was even so perfect. I found out after General Conference that a young Japanese girl that I had taken to church with me here in Nebraska, was in the Conference Center watching General Conference. You see, my cute little friend has transferred to U of U as an organ performance major and so Linda Marguetts is her advisor and teacher. Yu--that's my japanese friend's name, got offered a ticket to Conference and went to the Saturday afternoon session. Do you remember the talks? They were about the basic fundamentals of the church. This was just too cool! There is no coinodence! I will have to keep everyone posted on this great missionary opportunity.

4. 5 things you were doing this month 10 years ago. Ten years ago. Daren and I were living in downtown Salt Lake City. Daren had just finished his PhD from the U of U. Daren was commuting to BYU everyday to teach German. It was a one year position and a good thing for him. I actually had a parasite--gireada--this time ten years ago. It was brutal. I have never been sicker. I got it from the drinking water at a park in Utah County. Ten years ago, Daren and I had two little boys. Colin was six years old and in first grade at Wasatch Elementary, and Christopher was two years old and hanging out with me. I was in the Stake RS presidency in the Liberty Stake. Daren was first counselor to President John Liddle in the Liberty Stake Presidency. Daren was 32 years old then. We didn't have a clue what we were doing. We just did the best we could. Those were some happy days for us. We loved serving the Lord and trying to do the right things. I also had an article published from Deseret Book ten years ago. It was a great experience and I hope to do more of it in the future! FUN! The book is called: "Balm of Gilead: Women's Stories in Finding Peace." It was a bunch of essays that were written for BYU Women's Conference that year and then later published.

5. 5 things on your to-do list today 1. Take Cameron to preschool. 2. Buy kitchen trash bags. WE ARE OUT! . 3. Pick up kids after school and let Colin drive some. 4. Read something spiritual. 5. Work on the last minute details of the Primary Sacrament Program coming up in a few weeks. 6. Teach, teach, and teach.

6. 5 favorite snacks. I love POPCORN. I could eat it everyday. Oh yeah, I do eat it almost everyday. I also love salsa and lime-flavored chips. YUM! I love anything chocolate. A perfect snack for me would be: a bag of ruffles, ranch dip--homemade and a large "DIET, CAFFEINE-FREE DR. PEPPER." I love to snack on the fruit salsa from Pampered Chef with the homemade cinnamon sugar chips you make to go with them. I love to snack on pretty much anything!

7. 5 Bad Habits. I think nose-picking will not be making my list. 1. I think talking too much and not listening enough would be my first answer. I really need to work on that. 2. Not kneeling when I say my prayers. 3. Not making my bed everyday. 4. Not saying "I love you" enough to my friends. 5. Buying things that put me way over my budget.

8. 5 favorite foods. Only five....I love food. I would have to say: Tony Roma ribs--when Richard Thomas makes them on his grill in the backyard, a hamburger from "In and Out Burger," anything Mexican, scones, ice cream, and garden fresh tomatoes and other yummie produce. ORANGES !

9. 5-Places I've been. England, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, and Baja California. Canada too, but that doesn't seem too far away.

10. 5 Favorite Memories
1. Being Friends with Daren and having our friendship "catch fire." 2. Going to the temple to be sealed to my parents and brothers. 3. Going on a mission. 4. My first kiss with Daren. 5. Childbirth.--it said favorite--so the only birth I "loved" was Christopher's. At least the process. 6. A "small bike ride" I took with Daren in Modesto, CA. 7. Serving in the church. 8. Getting married.

Okay- Now I'm suppose to tag 5 people....that would be:
Heather W., Michal, Myrna, Lindsee and Myrissa. Maybe Valerie Y. if you are reading this. I think anyone can feel "tagged" if that will make your day!

Awesome information. Heh, I'm planning my "pay it forward" surprise for you but I need your mailing address.
Email it to me. And have a good, good day. I might have to go to Pirate O's (a funky specialty food place) and look for the white Bunny candy you mentioned last time. Hard to believe there is any food out there I haven't tried!
